Setting Up Outlook 2003
Before you can use your 1-Net Hosted Exchange email account, you need to setup your email client so as to enable it to communicate with your new email servers.
This section will illustrate the steps required to setup your new email account with Outlook 2003.
Pre-Requisites
To follow the setup procedure to enable you to access your emails, the following minimum requirements and information are required.
- Personal Computer running Windows XP with Service Pack 2
- Outlook 2003
- Working Internet connection
- A valid Email account with 1-Net Hosted Exchange
- Password for your Email account
Retrieve Profile Setup Files
Logon to the user setup portal using your personal username and password at the following URL :
http://netcontrol.1-net-singapore.com/netsetup
There are 3 steps as illustrated by the Setup Steps panels. Ensure that you have installed Windows XP with SP2 and Outlook 2003. Click on the Configure Outlook tab.
Follow the instructions and download the 2 files to your Desktop. These files are personalized for your account only and cannot be used by other users to setup their accounts. The 2 files are:
- Mail.prf
- RPCHTTP.vbs
Setting Up Your Outlook 2003 Profile
You will have already downloaded the 2 file from the user setup portal to your Desktop. Please refer to the previous section if you have not done so.
Close your Outlook 2003 window, if it is currently running.
Execute the RPCHTTP.vbs file.
If prompted, click the Yes button.
The system will prompt you that the setup has been completed. Click the OK button.
Open Outlook 2003. At the login dialog box, enter your email address as the user name and enter your password.
A window will appear indicating that Outlook 2003 is preparing for first use.
Once the above process is completed, you can start using Outlook 2003 with the NETmail HEX.PRO service.
